Scorpion Solitaire: A Challenging Card Game!
Introduction
Are you ready for a fun challenge? Scorpion Solitaire is a unique card game that combines strategy and skill. In this game, you'll need to build sequences of cards from King to Ace in the same suit. If you like games like Spider Solitaire and Yukon, you'll love Scorpion!
Game Setup
Scorpion Solitaire has three different types of piles:
- The Tail: This is the deck of three cards located in the upper left corner.
- The Body: This consists of the seven piles on the main table where you'll play.
- The Head (Foundations): These are the four piles in the upper right corner where you'll build your final sequences.
When you start the game, the Tableau piles in the Body each have 7 cards. The first three cards of the first four piles are placed face down, and the remaining three cards are put face down in the Tail.
The Objective
To win Scorpion Solitaire, you must build four piles on the table, each containing a descending sequence of cards in the same suit, starting from the King down to the Ace.
Allowed Moves
Here are the moves you can make:
- Move Cards: You can move one or more face-up cards from one Tableau pile to another. You can only move a card on top of another card if it’s one rank higher and of the same suit. For example, you can put the 5 of hearts on the 6 of hearts, or move a stack that includes the Jack of Spades onto the Queen of Spades.
- Kings in Empty Piles: Only Kings can be placed in empty piles.
- Deal from the Tail: You can deal the last remaining cards to the first three piles whenever you want if you choose the option to clear completed runs. If you haven’t completed any runs yet, you must first exhaust your moves before dealing from the Tail.
- Flip Over Cards: When a face-down card is exposed, it automatically gets flipped face-up.
- Unlimited Undos: You can undo your moves as many times as you want. Keep in mind that each Undo counts as a new move!
Scoring and Time
The game keeps track of how many moves you make and how long it takes you to finish. You can compete against your own best times!
How to Win
You win Scorpion Solitaire by moving all the cards to the foundation piles. Make sure to follow these tips:
- Prioritize Face-Down Cards: Move cards to reveal face-down cards and make them playable.
- Use the Stock Wisely: Only deal from the Tail when you have no other moves.
- Avoid Lower-Ranking Cards on Higher Ones: Keep lower-ranking cards below higher-ranking cards to make sequencing easier.
- Free Up Columns: This will allow you to move Kings and create new sequences.
- Watch for Deadlocks: If you see cards that can’t be sequenced, it might be time to restart the game!
Conclusion
Scorpion Solitaire is a challenging yet enjoyable game that requires careful planning and strategy. Can you build all your sequences and win? Give it a try and find out!
